Statement of Fees

A Statement of Fees provides you with an overview of all the fees incurred for services linked to your Current Account. It also informs you about any interest you may have paid or earned during the period of the statement. The Statement of Fees is issued annually in October.

 

What’s included on my Statement of Fees?

Your Statement of Fees will display fees, interest paid and interest earned for the period of the statement. You will be able to see how many times you used a particular service and the cost associated with it. Please note that the Statement of Fees will incorporate fee exemptions but it will not contain the specific exemptions details. We recommend you visit the fees and charges section for more information on exemptions.

What period does the Statement of Fees cover?

Your Statement of Fees will be produced annually each October for the previous 12 months and covers the period from 1 October to 30 September each year.

What is the purpose of this document?

Under the European Union (Payment Account) Regulations 2016, all financial institutions must provide personal customers with this document annually to detail clearly how their fees are charged, and to make it easier for customers to compare fees between financial institutions.

How will I receive my Statement of Fees?

If you currently receive your statement through the post, you will receive your Statement of Fees in the same manner. For all customers registered for eStatements, your annual Statement of Fees will be available on the PTSB app and through Open24.ie where you view your eStatement.

I would like to receive my Statement of Fees online, how can this be done?

If you would like to receive an electronic version of your Statement of Fees online, you will need to sign up for eStatements. By doing so, going forward, all of your future Bank Statements will be available online on the PTSB app or through Open24.ie and will no longer be posted out to you. How can I view my Statement of Fees on Open24 Online Banking?
  1. On the ‘Home’ page click the dropdown arrow to the right of the account of which you are looking to view your Statement of Fees and select the ‘View more transactions’ button at the bottom of the account overview.
  2. On the next screen, click the ‘Statements’ tab along the top. Then select ‘View eStatements’.
  3. If you have the PTSB banking app installed we will send a push notification to your registered device to verify.
  4. If you didn’t receive or accidentally removed the push notification from your device screen, just open your PTSB app where you will be prompted to verify.
  5. Otherwise a text message with a one-time security code is sent out.
  6. Input the code to the screen and a list of eStatements will appear. You can then scroll to the bottom of the page to view your Statement of Fees.

How can I view my Statement of Fees on the PTSB app?
  1. On the app home page, click the main menu icon (three lines) in the top left hand corner of the home screen.
  2. Click on 'eStatements'.
  3. Select the account you wish to view the Statement of Fees for.
  4. You will be required to authenticate using your Personal Access Number (PAN).
  5. Select the Statement of Fees you wish to view and it will download in .pdf format to your device. The Statement of Fees generates annually in October.

I have not received my Statement of Fees. What happens now?

The Statement of Fees will be issued on a phased basis throughout October each year. If you are registered for eStatements your Statement of Fees will be available by close of business on 31 October. If you receive postal statements and haven’t received your Statement of Fees within 5 working days of 31 October, please call our Open24 help line on 0818 50 24 24 or +353 1 212 4101 or drop into your local branch to ensure your correspondence details are correct.

I’m registered for eStatements, can I get my Statement of Fees in the post?

eStatements are a convenient and sustainable way of receiving your statements. If you have opted to receive your statement this way, your Statement of Fees will be available through the PTSB app or through Open24.ie.

Can I opt out of receiving a Statement of Fees?

It’s important to us that you are kept up to date on your Current Account activity. Under the European Union (Payment Account) Regulations 2016, we are required to provide customers with a Statement of Fees annually.

Will the fees and interest which are outlined in my Statement of Fees be charged to my account?

The fees and interest outlined in your Statement of Fees have already been debited from your account. The Statement of Fees displays the fees that have been applied on your account, along with the interest paid and interest earned for the specified period.

Why have I received a Statement of Fees when I have closed my account?

If there has been any fees and/or interest applied on your account within the specified period on the Statement of Fees, then we will issue you a final Statement of Fees in the post upon account closure. You will not receive any further Statement of Fees on this account.

Can I order a copy of my Statement of Fees?

You can only order a copy of the Statement of Fees for the previous period, i.e. issued in the October prior. Older Statements of Fees will no longer be available.

Can I access my Statement of Fees from previous years?

With effect from 6 December 2021, all newly issued Statements of Fees on Open24 Online Banking or via the PTSB App will be available for up to 2 years from the issue date for open accounts. Statements of Fees issued prior to 6 December 2021 are no longer available.

If you close your account, you lose access to any documents held on Open24 Online Banking and via the PTSB App in relation to that product. We always recommend you download and save your eStatements and Statements of Fees to your password protected personal device to ensure future ease of access.

There are fees shown on my Statement of Fees which were refunded to me

Your Statement of Fees will not display any refunds. Therefore, a charge that you were refunded will still appear on your Statement of Fees. We recommend reviewing your account statement to verify if the fee was refunded to the account.

How can I inquire about a fee I believe I shouldn’t have been charged?

The Statement of Fees details all the fees applied over a 12 month period, you may need to refer to your statement to see when the fee was charged and if it was applied correctly.
