Paralympic Powerlifter

Britney began her Para Powerlifting career at the age of 16 after she was recruited to the sport during a wheelchair basketball match.

At the age of 21, Britney made her first appearance at a Paralympic Games in Tokyo for Team Ireland, where she was joint flag bearer with Jordan Lee.

At the 2023 Para Powerlifting World Championships 2023 Arendse smashed her lifetime best when she lifted 124kg and secured a fifth place finish.  

The qualification window closes in June 2024. Britney will compete at the Dubai Fazza World Cup (28 Feb-7 Mar) and the Manchester 2024 World Cup (21-26 June). She will have to place in top 8 in the world to qualify for Paris 2024.

Britney finished 7th in the 73kg powerlifting category. She broke 3 personal bests lifting 103, 104 and finally 107kg.
